Why it hasn't been given any chance (by louisedahljensen) |
It is a great movie, if you do not know the original. A lot of the times you make a remake of the classics, you get angry and disappointed, but really if you switch of that thing in your head that compares the remake to the original, and give it an honest chance, the movie is really good. It is one of the best remakes I have seen of the good classic movies recently, and maybe it's because I never really have seen the original Dirty Dancing as one of my favorite movies. Give it a chance, be openhearted to this movie, and watch it like you haven't seen the original, and I think there is <more> |
I love it (by audraholmes) |
It was a good show.I was watching it the older one when I was a teenager it was a good show. This one shows all kids no matter how you are you can do anything in there life. I want to buy this in blu-ray or DVD.It is more musical I like that they didn't make the old one look bad there are just to mean haters because they didn't think of it first. |
Loved it (by angel-14602) |
I've grown up watching the original Dirty Dancing and I love it, now I understand what people are saying about the remake, but I personally loved and would watch it again, what I like about the remake is yeah they stuck to the original but they also made it different and put different things and to me that is what makes a remake better because they aren't just copying. I loved all the musical entry's in it and all the dance scenes and the chemistry between all the cast members and the main characters, they showed them falling in love in a longer period of time which makes you see <more> |
Dirty Dancing Remake (by kimbo812) |
It actually was not a total remake, there were differences and the differences were good. I liked that there was added romance with the parents, we do not see to many older adult romances on television, and yes married people can have a romance about them. The dancing was good, but not Patrick Swayze great, his dancing was beautiful to watch, and his acting was wonderful as well. I am glad that I watched last night. I like seeing the resolve at the end, I knew something was going to happen from the first scene where Baby is at a show, and then she says something about Broadway later on in the <more> |
After a few viewings I really enjoyed this movie (by catherinecavanagh) |
Okay, I have to admit that I had read some reviews before watching this and did not have an open mind. After watching this a few times, with an open mind I found I really enjoyed it. I think before anybody watches it they need to remember that this is a remake, and does not star Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze. It is not an exact replica of the original. I looked at it as if I was watching this story for the first time and I was able to enjoy it. A few things I ended up really liking....the music is still great, I thought Colt was very good in the role of Johnny and really developed the <more> |
Amazing. Loved it (by joshua-pokemon-quinlan) |
Absolutely loved this movie. But for me the ending was a bit of a let down and that no one is better the Patrick.Other then that I'm rating this a 9 out of 10 Because the dancing is great and acting is great especially the amazing Abigail Breslin and Sarah Hyland. This was a great movie I will watch again and again. I'm so happy with this remake well done. |
Fantastic and Much more Realistc!! (by elishere-35625) |
Woah People TV vs CinemaI thought this TV version of the movie and play was fantastic. To compare actors and scenes to the original movie is nonsense! Breslin and Prattes had great chemistry as did the rest of the cast. I remember thinking at the time how hokey the 1987 version was. Patrick Swayze was stiff at delivering his sometimes clichéd lines and Jennifer Grey used to overact and over-whine! The now iconic line - "nobody puts baby in a corner" was laughable. Furthermore, let's not forget that Swayze looked way too old for the role!! But time and nostalgia blur reality <more> |
it worked (by chicagovesuvi) |
Of course, I'm familiar with the 1987 movie upon which this was based. And I'm sure the comparisons are unavoidable... but, for me, it was like a blend of that crowd-pleaser combined with a jukebox stage musical. This 2017 rendition doesn't replace the original, but it acts as a companion piece. In a way they're like two painting of the same tree... each in a different style. They can both be what they are without detracting from the other.Perhaps it is my age and my estrogen levels but as much as I enjoyed the original, it didn't make my shed a tear... however, <more> |
Not So Dirty, But More Heart (by jrbrowzer) |
I have to say I really enjoyed this, perhaps because I was not such a fan of the original. That said, Abigail Breslin was actually how one would imagine "Baby" to be, and not some pumped up heroine in the waiting. She very nicely played a young person finding love for the first time, with all its highs and lows. The creation of the "musical" version was not distracting and this and the plot updates contributed to the story line which was necessary to bring the story into this century. So, if you can remove all the old trappings, this was indeed a fresh find. |
