Super satisfying movie (by palmito-29459) |
I truly cannot understand the negative comments above. This movie was so wonderful it was truly a delight to watch it from start to finish.Even if sort of simplistic, the plot was refreshing in its portrayal of the lesbian/bi mediated image. The tension between the girls was incredibly realistic and well written and acted. Their chemistry was natural.Overall, I'm mostly impressed with the result knowing that Sarah and Adrianne started shooting videos in their bed. The quality is good, the acting is natural, and the overall post production work is on point.Sure, the shape is not a <more> |
So beyond even my fangirl dreams! (by celiafclwhite) |
Super sweet, super heart-warming, and so REAL for anyone in any stage of young adulthood. Perfectly captures the intensity of friendships and relationships, general real-life awkwardness, and the truth of friendship. Literally squeeing.I don't think I've ever seen a better portrayal of friendship, all aspects of it, and I loved that they stayed true to that and didn't add unnecessary clichés -- the straight characters didn't turn gay, there were no gay crushes on straight friends, and they didn't up and change their entire lives for each other at the drop of a hat because <more> |
I thought it was fantastic (by teddiejean) |
I honestly don't know why there are so many negative reviews; I thought it was super sweet, relateable, funny, and a breath of fresh air both in terms of representation and in the fact that it didn't fall prey to most LGBTQ fiction tropes or film clichés in general. It was very real and also just kept me giggling, and the actors are all fantastic. New favorite! |
Very Good (by mileswbe) |
I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews. This was really good! The characters were well-written and believable and the performances were great. The only minor negative is that it relies heavily on the "gay best friend who dispenses sage advice" trope, but it actually lampshades it pretty humorously. This movie evoked a lot of memories for me about when I was an "almost adult" and the friendships I had at the time and how they've changed as I've gotten older. It's impressive how much this movie maintains its humor even as it gets more serious and <more> |
Coming of age and coming out, all in one, but funny (by eloisepasteur) |
I'm sure this movie won't be for everyone, but I'm well outside the target audience I'm in my 50's and although some of the jokes slide by I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've lived some of those moments and they sang true on screen for me. It's not going to change the world but it was lightweight, funny and hit a spot that needs to be hit. |
Positive representation in a light yet smart manner (by quatromesasbogota) |
It seems somewhat irresponsible and completely disrespectful to use such a public and influential platform such as IMDb to, more than anything else, rant about the fact that this film did not meet your expectations. Expectations that are clearly unrealistic, given the plot and development of the film and its characters. Of course, to some, the movie had its flaws, both in execution and in later distribution. But it delivered. Viewers must enjoy this film as an independent project and set aside any personal ambitions and unhealthy obsessions that may result detrimental for the cast and crew <more> |
The movie we need sometimes (by i_mostlyrock) |
Cassie and Mack had so much chemistry and this movie has its cute quirks i.e. the breakfast scene after Cassie and Mack's argument where Mack tries to pour herself some cereal . Though the plot may be simple, this movie has so much charm and it's so relatable imho.In the words of Cassie, "Thank you for fulfilling my needs." I really needed this. |
